Background in brief
Recent figures show 100,000 graduates unemployed in Ireland today. They are faced with months of further unemployment, emigration (projections estimate 1000 graduates emigrating weekly over the next year) or taking unskilled work outside of their core discipline. Apart from sitting at home, visiting friends, drinking tea or volunteering, there is little for them to do. It is time now that graduates come together and take control of the situation for themselves, to use their skills and energy to create their own jobs.
Key objectives
- To cause 100 graduates to have jobs more or less related to their qualifications in Ireland within 12 months of joining.
- To generate enough ideas to start at least 1 potentially viable business a month for 12 months.
- To create global networks.
